What can I do? My teeth are moving - retainer broke - in the mean time??!

Question: My teeth are moving and are getting crooked, and scraping my tongue, any suggestions of what I can do until I get a new retainer?

i know it sounds impossible but you have to try and out the old retainer in even if it has snapped in half as this will keep your teeth in place meaning the new retainer will hurt alot less!!!

However it actually depends on when you got your inprints for your new retainer as if you got them imprinted within 48 hours of your retainer breaking then the new retainer will move your teeth to the imprinted shape and your teeth wouldn't have moved much within those 48 hours!!!

Anyway good luck and i hope you're not in too much pain i know how it feels :(

Get to your doctor immediately my son has a permanent retainer behind his teeth that gets checked twice a year. Call the doctor and see what can be worked out until your new retainer arrives.
