Monroe piercing snagging tooth?!

Question: I just got my monroe piercing a week and one day ago, and the back flat side of it snagged on my tooth and the stud went halfway through the hole. I pushed it back out immediately and did a sea salt soak and used mouthwash for the inside. It is a little red and dry around the stud and it bled just a tiny bit. it's kinda crusting around the stud too. is this normal? how would I know if it's infected? thanks.

Ouch.
The reaction your piercing is having sounds completely normal for the healing process, especially after such an accident. I wouldn't be surprised if it swelled back up a little as well. Keep cleaning the area as you've been instructed and be patient. You should heal up just fine as long as the incident doesnt happen again.

If your piercing did not swell from getting snagged and your stud has plenty of extra room, you may want to speak with your piercer about changing the stud out for a shorter one. Long studs used for piercing have a tendency to get snagged once the initial swelling goes down. Since getting caught like that will obviously slow your healing, your piercer may be willing to switch the stud out. If the piercer does not want to change the stud yet, consider asking for a little larger ball on the outside end. This will prevent the ball sinking into the piercing if you get caught again.

If your piercing were infected it would probably be red, sore, producing heat, and producing pus (yellow, green, brown, etc). Infected piercings usually have a "sick" look to them. They just don't seem to be making progress.

A normal piercing that is a week old will be just a little red, producing lymph (whitish fluid or crust), and tender when bumped. All of these things may increase after an accident like getting snagged. Just be patient with your piercing and stay devoted to your cleaning.

If you're still not sure about your piercing, see your piercer. They will be able to tell you what looks normal and what doesnt. They'll also be able to look at the area and see if you're ready for a stud that is less likely to get caught on your teeth again.

that happened to my ears once and i just didnt touch it or do anything to it and my ears are fine.
