the enamel is coming off some of my front teeth and its gettin yellow is there anything a dentist or myself to make this look white again?

this is not something that just happened out the blue.and i have been to the dentist already he said it might be from brushing my teeth too hard .its been like this for proly 6 yrs its just gettin worse
