Do crowns on back teeth need to have metal in them?!

Question:

Do crowns on back teeth need to have metal in them?

If I am getting a crown on a back tooth, does it need to be metal and porcelain or can it be either all procelain or ceramic and porcelain?

Answers:

I would say you NEED porcelain on metal. These teeth take the brunt of chewing and I have had 2 crowns replaced because the porcelain on ceramic did not hold up very long.
