gargling with hot salt water is good for when u have a sore throat because it kills the infection and helps it feel better...i never heard of using it for a sore tooth tho i don't really know what it would do for that
i think you mean a sore tooth.. but gargling with salt water kills bacteria that could harm your vulnerable tooth.

i've known gargling with salt and water helps sore throats. i think it gets rid of the infection somehow.
another remedy for a sore tooth? if anbesol doesn't work, try a dentist. or if your a redneck, pliers.
Salt is like ananiseptic but wont stop the pain,oil of cloves rubbed on the tooth stops pain as does a mouthull of whisky held arond the tooth for a min or two then spit out.Best cure DENTIST
