Why do dentists charge a lot of money for little treatments?!

Question: Just image how much the materials cost for "little" treatments.
Then add in all the sterilization products that have to be used to insure your safety in this virus/bacterial world. Look around, how many employees are working to keep the place running efficiently. No business can be run alone. Then think of the cost of the malpractice insurance he pays out because everyone wants a guarantee and would sue to make a little extra for themselves. Think of all those people who don't pay their bills because He can afford it. Plus the people who don't show up for their appointments. There are so many costs you never see.

Because they can...

They have the degree to back them up. Which doesn't give them the right to rip people off...

Because they spent a lot of time and money going to school.

because they have a degree to back it up. that and they need to buy the materials used to do the treatment. if its a filling, the dentist needs to buy the porcalain to make your filling, the novocaine to numb you, the needle to inject the novocaine, and he needs to make a profit.

Most dentists are SUPER rich. They do it because so many people need there teeth done, they know they can make a lot of money off it so they charge a lot.

I agree here with kipperkay... We can assume that because it costs so much to go to the dentists, even the doctor, that it must mean that they have to be rich beyond imagine. When in fact it often is quite the opposite.

Along with the numerous expenses it takes to run a dental office, along with the malpractice insurance, etc. You must also understand that a "cash" paying patient, one with no insurance, is actually the only time that a dentist makes that much money in the first place for services. They are required to reduce their fees before billing Insurance companies & Medicare, so not only do they make less, but it takes at least 1 extra person in the office to do insurance claims & filing in order to receive the money from the insurance company.

You just might be amazed to find out how the income of the CEO's of the major insurance companies compares to that of a dentist, or a doctor, even a specialist of sorts... It is quite shocking.
