5 days ago and I am still in pain is that normal????

it is normal to have some pain for 7-10 days. however if you notice puss or swelling you should contact your dentist as this would be a sign of infection. also, if you smoke you should avoid it because it could cause a dry socket and that is very painful. don't use a straw either.
