Teeth Question...?!
Question:
Teeth Question...?
I have to get impressions done on my teeth tomorrow, I always gag!
Do you have any tips on how to help me not gag?
Thanks!
Answers:
Have your dentist put the chair as upright as possible, and put your chin down on your chest when the impression tray is put into your mouth.
The upright chair position and putting your chin down on your chest helps gravity pull all the impression to the front of your mouth, instead of towards the back where it makes you gag.
And remember to breathe through your nose.
I can sympathize-- When I was in dental school, my classmates and I had to practice taking impressions on each other. On our first day, there was a lot of drooling and blowing of chunks because we didn't know how to do it right. :-D
Good luck!
