Okay trust me getting your braces off is waaaayyy overdramatized it's not bad at all. It only hurts for a while after, and a little during. No where near as much pain as the time when I got chains and rubber band hooks put in.
1. Omg no you won't be able to see where they were. I hate to admit it, but I always forget to brush my teeth, so I end up rarely brushing them (lolz i chew a LOT of gum so my breath never stinks) and when I got them off, you can't even tell where they were.
2. You should ask your dentist about this. You should probably wait a little while because your gums may be irritated, and it would sting. When you go to the ortho to get them off, ask your ortho about it, and he'll suggest which one you should do first. I'm pretty sure white strips are okay for you to use right away. The whitening from the dentist is probably better, because it's done by a professional. If you do get whitestrips though, get Crest Whitestrips, NOT listerine ones... the listerine ones don't work at all and the dissolving part leaves a really gross residue in your mouth.
3. You will experience some pain during removal, i'm not gonna lie to you. The sanding the cement off part is more the noise then the pain, because the noise is like inside your head lol so it just sounds scary.

You should be excited!!! It's so fun to show off your teeth when you get them off and it feels so weird after because your teeth feel so smooth.
good luck!?

Hey! I had braces, and I had my teeth whitened at the dentist also. It didn't hurt at all, and afterwards, my teeth felt so cool and smooth. I did the zoom whitening thing at the dentist office, they do it at first, and then they send a touch up kit at home, you wear like a retainer with the whitening stuff in it whenever you feel like touching up your teeth. I like it alot. The only thing was that, my teeth were REALLY sensitive to the stuff they used and hurt for like two days after it happened. Seriously the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life. But, my teeth were FINE when I got my braces off.. no stains or anything, and since you brush a good amount every day, they should be perfect.

Goodluck :)

When you take off your braces, there won't be anny marks on your teeth so don't worry about that :) i just got them taken off a week ago. ummm i don't know about the teeth whitening, but crest whitening strips help!
and when taking off the cement/dust, it doesn't hurt at all. i mean they might poke at your gums a little bit, but it's the smallest bit of pain ever. and when they sand off the cement, it just smells funky :P that's all, haha. hope that helped. and congrats with getting your braces off!!
