Question: Because im gonna get braces and I have a gummy smile and I hate it..are braces gonna help?

Yes, overbite may trigger a gummy smile. Cause your teeth and gums are shown more when you smile.
But the gummy smile is often linked to he lenght of your face.
Orthodontist ussually make a Cephalometric analisys to measure this according to some specific guidelines.
In short words
long faces=Gummy smile
Normal= Normal (shows only 1 or 2 mm of your gum, and all the upper teeth)
Short faces=Show the lower teeth while smiling.
Ussually the Orthodontist will tell you that the gummy smile is of skeletal origin, the only way is surgery...
