No, when I was 17 my best friend had a toothache and I had to take her to the hopsital while she was drunk because the pain became so intense. I guess it depends how bad it is.

seriously, use clove oil. if you can't find clove oil, use the spice ground cloves and mix it with a little bit of vegetable oil...use enough ground cloves to make it brown and you can smell it really well. Put the clove oil over your sore tooth. It will relieve your pain in a matter of minutes.
getting drunk might help you pass out, but when you wake up, you will have a sorer tooth than you started with.

~~~~Just an FYI....this "idiot" DID in fact clarify this with her Dentist of 22 yrs. and he did IN FACT, okay using this as a temporary pain killer on a toothache UNTIL you can see a dentist for proper care. I have, IN FACT, used this as a quick soother for tooth pain, it has NO side effects, it CANNOT hurt you in any way and it does relieve some or all of the pain. And why you wouldn't want to try a simple thing when you are in pain instead of putting out high priced $$ products that DON'T work, is beyond me.....but it's your tooth and you can believe whomever you wish ... this is Y/A and we all have our own opinions....and it is rude to call other answerers "IDIOT"~~~~~~~
It will undoubtedly ease the pain but the pain will return when you sober up plus you'll have a hang over to contend with. Try placing a painkiller on the tooth & letting it dissolve directly into the nerves if you can stand the taste.
Aside from the fact that it's against the law and you are only 17. Yes it will delute the pain--very much so but make sure to have your parents permission. There are many down falls to getting drunk ex. waking up in the morning with a hang over.
No, no, no!! Do not get drunk! It won't help and you'll be sorry. Tell your parents about your pain right now and ask them to get to a dentist as soon as possible. It's could be just a cavity that can be filled and you won't feel a thing with novacaine. If you wait, you could get an infection. Now go talk to your parents!
the alcohol will actually increase the pain it increases your blood pressuer and makes the heart beat faster makeing the pain all that much worse get clove oil or get to the dentist sooner
Go to a different dentist. Tell them it is an emergency. Tell them you think you might have an absess. They won't know till they look at you. They won't turn you down. They will squeeze you in somehow. Don't get drunk. If you have a cavity that has the root exposed, the alcohol will create a huge amount of pain.
Use sensidyne tooth paste to numb the teeth but it does take a few weeks to notice any effects but it does work.
Please don't listen to the idiot who is telling you to grind up cloves and stick it your tooth. Yes, we do use clove oil (eugenol) in the dental field. However, it is formulated to do certain tasks. In the specific case they were referring to, it was AFTER an extraction.
If you are suffering from dental pain, CALL YOUR DENTIST AND TELL THEM!!!! If they know you are in pain, they will work you in. If they are not able to work you in soon, CALL ANOTHER DENTIST!!! I work at an office, and I receive calls about dental pain all the time. If you tell them that it has been hurting for a few weeks, they may think you can hold out for a few more days. Please tell them you are in severe pain and don't know what to do. If you call on the weekend or at night when the office is closed, there should be an emergency number on the outgoing message telling you how to reach the dentist. Call them!
YES but then you will have a hangover & a tooth ache!!! Doc W
