Can silver tooth fillings be painted white so they are less noticeable?? if so h!

Question:

Can silver tooth fillings be painted white so they are less noticeable?? if so how much?

Answers:

MICHAELA,

THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IS YES!

IF AN AMALGAM (SILVER) IS IS IN SOUND CLINICAL CONDITION, A THIN LAYER OF COMPOSITE (WHITE) MATERIAL IS PLACED OVER THE SILVER AND COVERS THE DARK MATERIAL FROM SHOWING.
AS FAR AS THE COST, I NORMALLY CHARGE ABOUT 1/2 THE COST OF A FULL COMPOSITE FILLING.
I WOULD ASK YOUR DENTIST AND ASK HIM/HER HOW THEY WOULD DEAL WITH IT.
