I have to have a crown put on my tooth in the morning, does it hurt?
The surgery on my jaw has already been done. Now the next part is the crown. Also, should I get porcelain, gold, silver, etc. Thanks!

not at all! In the end it will look like just another tooth. I work in a dental office and if you want the most sturdy and longer lasting one then get a porcelain. It looks just like a normal tooth. If the tooth is in the front that you might want to get porcelain filler on the outter side that points out because as your gums receed as you get older you will see the metal that they use to hold it in. You know when you look in a persons mouth and they have a gray line around the gums of their teeth, thats what will show unless you get the porcelian filler. This will be more expensive of course! If its in the back just get porcelian, will not wear down with as fast with bitting and chewing and your back teeth get most of the pressure, and not worry about the filler.
