Is an electric toothbrush bad for your teeth and gums?!

Question:

Is an electric toothbrush bad for your teeth and gums?

Answers:

No brush is bad for your teeth or gums, it all depends on the technique of your brushing. Hard brushing will cause enamel and gum erosion, which in turn causes extreme sensitivity and recession of gums. Brushing too soft will not remove all bacteria and will therefore result in decay, gum and bone disease. In fact the oral B electric brushes, if used properly can be more effective than a manual brush. I am a qualified dental nurse so I hope this helps.
