Removal of Braces??!
Question: I am getting my braces removed on april 29th and I was wondering about the process they go through to get my braces taken off? does it hurt?? and also about how long it takes to get them taken off and for the retainers to be made?

It does hurt at all. I mean they just pop them off. I was scared at first but I didn't feel any pain. Depends how many brackets and rings you have on your teeth. It didn't take too long for me..I got them off 3 years ago. The only thing that takes time is when they are getting the cement off your teeth. So the whole thing took about 30 min. or so. I had a mold taken of my teeth after they took my braces off and then the next day I got my retainers. Some of my friends go to a different orthordontist and got the retainers the next week after. Just remember to always wear your retainers when told to. if you don't you will regret it because teeth move quickly. Alot of my friends had braces twice because they didnt want to wear their retainer. My teeth are still straight because i wore mine and I still do. I wear mine only when i go to sleep now.
It is not the most pleasent feeling there is alot of drilling and it smells bad like burning plastic. But in the end it will all be worth it. Retainers are ussally fitted right there and are availible in 1 week
Usually the retainers are already made, or atleast mine was. I didn't think it hurt that much. The only teeth that really hurt were my two front teeth and my two front bottom teeth. Don't worry about it and you should be fine!
There is no drilling in getting you braces off.... It doesn't hurt at all. I would say that it hurts a little when they scrap the glue off of your teeth. For me it only took like 10 mins to get them off. The day I got my braces off I had to get a positioner and bite down on it really hard for 5 hours a day. That was horrible. But then I got my retainers after like 2 weeks after I got them off. The retainers took like 30 mins to make.
