Does anyone know of any organizations that will help get a person dentures?!

Question: My husband has Chrons disease and was diagnosed 27 years ago. Back when he started having complications with the disease he was treated with steroids for many years. Therefore it effected his bones and teeth. His teeth are decayed to the gum. With the disease he has he needs to be able to chew his food but he has no teeth to chew with. He is disabled because of the disease so he doesn't work. I have dental insurance where I work but still can't afford to pay what the insurance won't pay. Is there help out there??

If you're located in California, you may qualify for MediCal, and if that's the case, then the dentures should be covered by their program.

If not, i would recommend going to a dental school or if possible, a dental residency program (associated with a hospital - called a GPR (General Practice Residency)) to get treatment at a low cost for your husband. Treatment does take longer than on the outside, but the quality of treatment is very good. If you get treatment through a GPR, the dental residents there and the facility are better equipped to deal with patients that have medical conditions.

Hope that helps
