Well, I was in a bad car accident and the result was permanent TMJ. I spent years wearing TMJ splints and finally after many years, I no longer wear the splints, but the splints did help to alleviate the pain. I saw three different TMJ doctors and tried everything and the top splints and also the bottom splints. I slept with a splint in my mouth! I wore the TMJ splint 24 Hours a day for years. Some people just have a permanent condition and you try to manage the pain.. Good Luck! Some times there is only so much the doctors can do. Mine tried their best! Bye!.....
