Should temporary bridge be causing such discomfort?!

Question:

Should temporary bridge be causing such discomfort?

A week and one day after getting my tooth extracted, I had a temporary bridge put in(yesterday). It is extremely irritated and it aches constantly. It is not agony, like an abscess is, but it is bothering the heck out of me! I have had a bridge before and I do not remember going through this much discomfort. Is this b/c it was so soon after the extraction? or could something be wrong?

Answers:

the gum itself is most likely irritated from the work being done after the extraction itself you should rinse with some warm salty water after meals and before bedtime or you can buy a powder called "amason" any cvs, or buy rite, wallgreens ect.. should carry it. also if you can take Advil take 2 every 4 to 6 hrs. if that don't work you should call your dentist and ask them to check your bite. i hope you get to feeling better soon.. m
