I have really old "silver" fillings....they feel like they may be comi!
Question:
I have really old "silver" fillings....they feel like they may be coming loose and my teeth are getting..
sensitive....what can I do about this that is safe.....
Answers:
Unfortunately the silver fillings need to be replaced--it sounds like you got your money's worth out of them---Now it is time to replace them.
In the short mean-time, keep your smile as clean as possible. Brush and floss regularly and rinse with an antibacterial rinse. Avoid chewing on ice or hard foods like cracking nut shells, hard candy, etc.
Avoid acidic drinks like juices and sodas as the acid and sugars will only cause more problems to the leaking silver fillings and begin to add to this problem by dissolving natural tooth structure inside and underneath the leaking filling. It will also cause you additional sensitivity.
I hope that you are able to see your dentist very soon-- so that your situation is taken care of and your teeth are saved from further damage from breakage and additional decay.
Most Sincerely, Tina
