well heres the deal on mine:
i get them tightened and stuff once a month so they do kill.
the first time u get them you cant even tap your teeth together and cant eat solids for a week. you can still chew gum. rarely does it get stuck and if it does just take a toothpick to get it out. and chips too. they also rub up against your cheeks and they hurt a lot but thts what the wax is for. and after awhile you cant even feel them. umm sometimes my wires pop out but i can just put them back in. oh and if the wires poke your gums your ortho will cut them. ha and when u get the molding of your mouth it hurts and tastes so bad. first the put this metal thing in your mouth and if its too big it kills. then they stick this nasty putty in the metal thing and put it in your mouth. when they take it out it feels like your teeth are being pulled out. so basically, even though braces are in the "i want them" phase, you really dont.
They hurt alot but you get great results
