It will take about a week for most of the pain to go away!. It takes about 3 weeks before you can easily chew crunchy food!. Use ice packs on your cheeks!. They definitely help! Be sure to takke all of your meds until they run out so you don't get an infection!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The dentist should have gave you some narcotics like Percocet/Vicodin etc!.!., but you said you have a hard time swallowing so I would try to cut the pill maybe and that way it will make it easier to swallow!.!.I would also try the ice on your cheeks!.!.But you should really call the dentist and tell them that you are in alot of painWww@Answer-Health@Com

I had all 4 of mine pulled over a yr ago!. I had severe bleeding to the point I had to use wet tea bags to stop it!. Pain for only a day or 2, no swelling!. Couldn't eat solid food for 2 weeks and got tired of mashed potatoes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i got mine pulled many years ago and i don't remember the pain being that underable!. i think you should call your doctor and ask for something stronger - you shouldn't have to suffer!. he/she'll give you something better, you just have to askWww@Answer-Health@Com

speak to your dentist so he/she can change the medications!. perhaps u need something stronger!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I just had eight teeth out on Friday- two badly impacted bottom wisdom teeth included, and the dentist gave my tylenol 3 because I have a hard time swallowing pills!. You can grind the pill up, and using about a sip or two of water, add the ground pill to the cup, and then just drink the water down!. It is important to use only as much water as necessary when taking the pill, and to stir in the pill and then quickly drink, so that the powder doesn't sink to the bottom and you don't get anything!!! This will probably work with extra strength tylenol or anything along those lines (nothing with coating, or easy to swallow pills, etc)!. After the first 24 hours, use a hot pack on your cheeks- 20 min!. on, 20 off- as this will reduce the swelling (you can continue to use ice as well- just remember to take at least a 20 minute break between alternating items to give your cheeks a rest- hot, nothing, cold, nothing, hot, etc!.) The hot pack should also help with the pain!. Also, rinse with warm salt water, as that will remove any bacteria from the wounds, and really help with healing!. Hope this helps, and don't be afraid to call your dentist (no question is stupid- if you are worried, or in pain, it is their job to help you feel more comfortable)!. My problem three days later is that the rest of my teeth feel loose!.!.!.!.!.but that is just my mind playing tricks on me because of all the work that I have had done!!! Don't worry, it does get better- If I can get eight teeth pulled and survive- anyone can get through it, as I am a big baby when it comes to pain in my mouth!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had my wisdom teeth out many years ago!. They were super impacted and I had a very hard time healing!.

Also I smoked cigarettes back then and got a dry socket from the suction of smoking!.

1) Take all of your antibiotics until you run out!

2) Do as your Dentist says and ask for something stronger if the pain persists!. You should be able to reason with Him/Her telling them that you want to be able to withstand the pain for four days to a week!. And ask them if that is fair enough!.

If you have problems after that, you can always go in for a check-up and get their opinion on the pain meds!. Insist if you must and don't give up!.

You should be able to eat regularly in 7-10 days or maybe longer if you are a slow healer!.

It all depends on how severe your teeth were when pulled and the condition of your mouth for the work which was done!.

I had had braces so mine grew in crooked to the insides of my mouth! You should be much better off than I was!

Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
