Question: How long does it take to adjust to playing a musical intrument with braces!?
I've been playing trombone fore 4 years now, and I got braces a month and a half ago!. after 30-40 minutes of playing (not all at once) my braces will get stuck to the inside of my lips, and it messes with my embouchure so i cant play higher notes as well!.

I played the trumpet!. I remember when I got my braces that I felt almost "normal" the first few times I tried to play, but then things turned ugly pretty quickly!.
What's happening is that your lips are relying on muscle memory at first, but soon fatigue since they are not supported in the same manner as before!.
Give yourself some time!. When you practice, play until the point you feel your embouchure falling apart and push just a little longer!. Do not keep going through the frustration!. Instead, take a short break and then come back and hit it a little more!. Rinse and repeat!.
Basically, you have to re-train your embouchure!. Pushing yourself through the frustrated moments where nothing feels right will just prolong the agony!.
Given time and proper practice techniques, you will be back to your old self after a few months!. Yeah, that seems like a while, but it is worth it IF you take this as an opportunity!.
Since you are re-training your embouchure, now would be an EXCELLENT time to take a few private lessons from an experienced teacher!. They may be able to point out some things you are doing wrong with your embouchure that you could improve on!. After all, if you are re-training you might as well re-train to be better than before, right!?
The bad news!.!.!. you will have to go through this again when you get the braces off!.
One final note!.!.!. for the "sticking" you mention you could try wax!. Some people find that a small amount of wax applied to the braces makes them flat and stops the sticking!. Personally I did not find this to help as the wax just seemed to make the braces "bigger" in the way they felt!. If you skip the wax, the sticking feeling will go away after you get used to the feel of the embouchure over the braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had braces for about 3 years now, and I promise you will get used to it!. Give it sometime!. The more your teeth get fixed, the easier it will be for you to play your instrument!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
