In general you need to give it a week before having it adjusted!. It may only take 1 adjustment or it may take several if you got immediate dentures!. They may need to be adjusted even so often if your bone structure changes!. Also, they may need to be relined every few years to help fit the denture better to the shape of the jaw bone and how it has changed!. If you get immediate dentures the reline probably needs to be done anywhere from 8 weeks 3-6 months after!. A few months of practice is usually needed until you feel completely comfy with them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Gee, I wish I could tell you a magic number but as you know, each person is different!.
Some people will adapt to dentures right away while others may take longer!.
Depending on whether you had an immediate (where they take out the teeth the same day and place the denture) or whether you let your gums heal first from the extractions and then did your impressions!. There are many factors!.
No one can give you a definite answer on this one!. Try to be patient and remember that the dentist is there to make adjustments to make them feel better for you!.
