Hi i am getting braces in a few weeks (ahh!) and i hvae watched videos on youtube of how they put them on!. Some of the videos look really scaary where the people have big things in their mouths to keep it open and stuff!. Some videos are really long and it takes the orthodontist like 2 hours to do it!. some videos look really painful!. I am so scared!!! The problem is, I hate that big thing they put in your mouth - i'm so bad at keep my mouth open because i have a real problem with spitting! There is always loads of syliva in my mouth!!! I know the orthodontist won't let me spit - What can I do!? And is it as scary as it looks on the videos!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had braces for two years!. It is not that bad!. Yes, they do have to put the big thing in your mouth to hold it open, but that is because they use a type of cement to glue the brackets onto your teeth!. You wouldn't want to taste it, or get it on the soft tissues in your mouth!. It can take a while, but they do keep you comfortable and they will suction your mouth to keep it dry and to keep you from choking on your own spit during the process!. I'm sure you are not the first person to produce saliva during the procedure!. It doesn't hurt (your cheeks may feel a little sore and stretched out afterward) to get them put on!. It is uncomfortable when you get them adjusted (because they are moving your teeth around) and the braces themselves can irritate your cheeks!. Luckily if you have an orthodontist worth his salt he will give you a little case of wax to but over the braces that irritate you, so they will not hurt anymore!.
Just remember, take good care of your teeth while they are one, so that it won't be a big waste of money!. It will be uncomfortable, but if at any time things become PAINFUL let them know!. Nothing about braces is supposed to hurt, if it does tell them and they will fix it!.

i've never tried it before but all i can say to is that not all having braces get scared itz normal for you to feel that!.!.!.why dont you ask and told your orthodontist bout your prob!. im sure ther must be a good solution for that!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

first thing, don't be scared!. :) it will be ok, it will hurt for a little bit AFTER they put them on!. be sure to get the wax they give you in case the braces cut your cheek though, i made the mistake of just passing it up but i went back and got a few packs :)!. it does take them a while but think of the end result!. you will have a beautiful smile!. (don't worry about the whole spitting thing, they will have a sucking tube in your mouth that will suck it all out *LOL* it feels wierd) and when they do take off your braces they feel all smooth and a little slimey *LOL* you'll be just fine!! its ok-promise!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Hi! I hope I can make you feel better about getting braces!. First, let me tell you how scarred I was all my life to go to the dentist, let alone, go to an orthodontist!! Now, braces are NOT BAD at all!. Sure, you'll have some discomfort!. The wire cut my jaw when I first got them!. They'll give you wax to put on the wires when they do that!. Buy a lot because you will need it!.I really can't complain about having mine!. I haven't seen the video on youtube!.I'll look for it!. You're probably talking about when they make an impression of your mouth!. Yes, that's nasty!.But it doesn't last long!. I've wore my braces for 28 mo!. Hopefully, I can get them off soon!.
