Adult with a Baby Tooth?!

Question: Adult with a Baby Tooth!?
I am in my early thirties, have all my wisdom teeth out, and have never had braces!. Not because I don't need them - I do - but because I was not in the position to have them done at the appropriate age!. In spite of this, they look OK!.

I have one adult baby tooth - upper left canine!. We know there's a permanent tooth in the roof of my mouth, because I had it x-rayed some time ago!.!.!.it just never descended!.

The baby tooth is not wobbly or painful and shows no sign of moving!. I was told a while ago that I should have it extracted and have the permanent tooth pulled down!.!.!.but the reasons I was given seemed cosmetic, since the rest of my teeth were in and they hadn't turned out too badly!.

It seems like it fixing it would affect my whole mouth, and I admit I'm not crazy about the idea of getting braces at this point in my career!.

If nothing is otherwise wrong with my baby tooth, are there any real, inevitable medical consequences to just leaving it there!?

Thanks in advance!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
There are problems that can arise from leaving the tooth impacted!. One such problem is that a cyst can form around the tooth!. If you decide to leave the tooth impacted just be sure to have it checked every couple of years with a panorex xray!. Also if you change dentists be sure to advise your new dentist of the tooth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

wow!. i have the same thing, except there is no adult tooth underneath! i would get the tooth descended if it was causing you problems, but i see now harm in leaving it in, just the way it is!. talk to your dentist to see the pro's and con's of leaving it!. the great thin is that, if you leave it, you can always decide ten years down the road to go ahead with the procedure, but you can't do that if you go ahead now!. i say leave it in!. if it isn't causing you trouble, why fix what ain't broke!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
