Root canal broke off! What should I expect?!

Question: Root canal broke off! What should I expect!?
I had a root canal done at least 9 years ago!. I haven't been to the dentist in about 8 years (my own foolishness!.!.!.I know better!.!.!.I haven't had any terrible pain or issues but I knew I should go but i didn't)!. The original tooth broke off to the gumline!. Then today a huge chunk that was in the middle broke off & looks to be even with the original tooth!. The only part that is still standing is the front part of the tooth-by the gum cheek!. I go to the dentist tomorrow for him to look at it & see what he needs to do!.

What am I looking at proceedure wise!?!? Do they pull the tooth!? Cut me!? I'm not sure if I ever had a crown/cap!. Or do they just build up the tooth!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You could be looking at a number of things depending on what's there!.!.!.!.Either:
1!. Extraction
2!. Post build up and crown!.
3!. Gum surgery and a post build up and crown!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

build-up really requires something good to post into and build around!.

I would expect the worst - perhaps an extraction and an implant!. I think a single implant isn't much more than the cost of a root canal & crown - $1200-2000

Perhaps you get lucky and they can salvage it!. Dentistry is getting better and better!.

In my experience the cost + pain is better to make your two trips to the dentist every year than waiting for something catastrophic, but you know that!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Same thing happened to me I expected to have to have the rest of the tooth extracted but my dentist did something called a core build up!. The procedure was about 45 min!. He put in 3 posts into the tooth then wrapped some kind of filling material around it!. I had to let this sit for about 10 min!. Then he came back and put a crown on!. No pain at all because the tooth is already dead from the root canal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i'm sure the day you got your root canal (rct) finished!.!. your dentist must have suggested you to go for crown for the same tooth!.!.!.!.!.you wouldn't have been in this situation today if had cap/crown done after rct!.!.!.!.root canal is procedure where your nerve is cleaned out from your tooth and materiual is filled instead !.!.!.!.!. basically your tooth is put to death with no life( no nerve inside)which means your tooth is weakened gradually and turns black too!.!.!. eventually breaks down without cap!.!.!.well now dentist will have to take x-ray !.!.!.!.if your tooth is broken inside too( under gumline only visible with x-ray) he got no choice ( which i'm sure the case is most time) he have to pull it out ( you can go for partial denture/partial bridge removable to fill empty space)!.!.!.!.if your tooth is still safe (not broken under the skin only visible with x-ray) he can build artificial tooth around it again depends on situation of tooth!.!.!.i would suggest go see dentist there is no other way outWww@Answer-Health@Com
