Answers:
Not necessarily!. Your baby canines weren't "designed" to be in your mouth for much longer than twelve years (the enamel is thinner, and the tooth is smaller overall than the permanent tooth that would replace it), so they'll start to show their age over time!. If they wear down too far, they may need to be removed even if they aren't loose!.

We generally lose our baby teeth because the permanent teeth that will replace them gradually resorb the roots of the baby teeth, leaving nothing to hold them in place!. Without those permanent canines develping, your baby canines can be expected to keep their roots and should stay in place for a while!. The flip-side is that sometimes, for reasons that aren't well-understood, the roots of baby teeth will spontaneously melt away on their own!. It's not something your dentist will be able to predict!.

I've had 40 year-old patients with retained baby teeth that were reasonably healthy, and 18 year-old patients who spontaneously lost theirs for no apparent reason!.

My recommendation: plan for the loss of those baby canines, but maintain them as well as you can until you are ready for their replacement!. Simply keeping the baby tooth in place will keep the bone in place as well, which would be beneficial if you ultimately decide to replace them with implants!.!.!.your best option for the long term!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
