Sore tooth...scared of dentist :(???? HELP..what can i do?!!?!
Question: Sore tooth!.!.!.scared of dentist :(!?!?!?!? HELP!.!.what can i do!?!!!?
One of my back teeth (which allready has a white filling in it) has become really sore!.
I'm really worried about quite a few of my teeth because i havn't beeen to the dentist in about a year and a half!.
It has a horizontal greyish line round the bottom of it and it just feels like the nerve has nothing covering it!. If i put my tongue on it it feels horrible!.!.!.i can't really describe it but it's not plesant atall!. It also tastes kind of funny!.!.!.if i was to run my tongue along all my teeth it just tastes different!.
I just feel as though i want to pull it out!!!
The thing is i really don't want to go to the dentist!. Last time i went because this same tooth hurt and i told the dentist this and he stuck his metal pointed thing in it (sorry-cant think of the name but wasn't an injection, i got one after)!. It was seriously the worst pain i've ever felt in my life-no joke!.!.!.and i'd told him how sore it was before he did this!!
I've not been back since!.

OK, first of all I would bet that the most likely thing the grayish line you describe is plaque!.!.!.could be decay but sounds more like it's plaque!.!.!.if it is it cloud be extended down and slightly under the gum line creating a sever irritation and that could in turn create both pain and a bad taste!.!.!.!.If on the other hand, the tooth has now developed an abscess, your looking at a probable root canal, or in the extreme case, an extraction!. In any event an oral visual examination followed by an Xray is what you need, and waiting isn't going to make it get better!. Bad teeth can cause health hazards people don't relate them to, so get to another dentists!.!.!.And by the way, injecting anesthetic these day's should create very very little discomfort!.!.!.could be your first dentist is just plain not very skillful at giving injections!. well even if u told him that they soemtimes gotta see for themselves to an idea more personally of how it is!. If anything see a DIFFERENT dentist and in the eman time buy orajel so that it'll get numb!. If u don't go to a dentist it may just get even worse, it sounds like its really irritated/inflammed!. U should use listerine or warm salt water at least twice a day until u see a dentist!. Don't be scared a licensed dentist is here to help u !. If anything put oragel so it numbs it and when u go, tell teh dentist u put some on ur tooth bringit with u even , just in case so u won't get an allergic reaction in case they do have to do something !.!.!.!.that way u don't feel anything but only do this if they don't provide something to make u sleep or ur totally freaking out!. That extreme pain u felt that day was probably due to an exposed nerve or something!. been there, done that so i know how u feel!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
