Your orthodontist might actually have a list of dos and don'ts for you, but here are some I learned:

Do brush regularly--stuff gets stuck in your braces more easily and can start to smell bad!.
Do listen to the ortho--they know what they're talking about and if you don't follow instructions the braces will be on longer!.
Do ask as many questions as you need to!. They might get annoyed but it helps everyone in the long run if you understand what's going on!.
Don't eat anything hard or sticky--it will snap off brackets or pull on your wires!.
Don't play with them too much! I've had brackets and ties come off and wires bend or slip from absentmindedly touching them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the first month don't eat hard candy but, i know you are not supposed to, i always eat stuff that you are not supposed to!.!.!.!. ONLY eat sugar free gum! the regular gum gets stuck to your braces and is really hard to get out!.!.!.!.!. Do brush your teeth as much as possible and floss once and a while they say dont eat tough meats but like i said be4 only 4 the first month then you can eat WHATEVER you want!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have braces!. u cant basically have chewy/sticky or hard candys and stuff because you'll brake them and have them on for longer!.!. But i still chew, chewy stuff anyways and it doesnt brake!. So yeah theres no really any don'ts!. Just be careful
