Difference between endodontic retreatment and apicoectomy?!
Question: Difference between endodontic retreatment and apicoectomy!?
Can someone tell me the difference!? I have a molar that has been root canaled twice, and still have abscess present on my gum!. I am looking for my options!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Re-treatment is just what it implies!.!.!.!.redoing the root canal by removing the old material and replacing it after the canal(s) are reformed and retreated!. An apicoectomy is a surgical procedure where the very end of the root is removed and usually a retrograde amalgam filling is placed to seal the root end!. An apicoectomy is usually performed when the normal root canal treatment is not remedying the situation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
retreatment is redoing the the root canal treatment, after removing the older root canal filling!.
Apiceotomy is surgically entering the tooth from the opposite side, and cleaning the infection and sealing the root up with a filling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
