If you request it the dentist can put surface anesthetic on before using the needle but depending on your age [if your older than about 14] he won't, so if you want it then do request to have it!. However because you are only having a filling he will only have to inject into your gum and not the roof of your mouth [which is what really hurts] so as long as he injects the anesthetic nice and slow [also ask him to go as slow as he can as some dentists just pump it in and the slower it goes in the less it hurts] you should be alright! Just bear in mind having the injection hurts a LOT less than having a filling without anesthetic would!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
