Jaw pain and when does it go away?!

Question: Jaw pain and when does it go away?
I started having jaw pain on thursday cause i was grinding my teeth the night before. I never grind my teeth, this is the first time, but i was just really drunk. Obviously, this is a sunday and its still sore, with a slight improvment, it is still hard for me to eat and cause alot of uncomfort.

I dont really want to go to the doctors or dentist, so when does the pain go away? Thanks, Lee.

Also, when i swallow sometimes it feels uncomfortable, is this because of the jaw?

Answers:

Take some ibuprofen for any inflammation and muscle soreness, and apply a warm towel to your jaw before you go to bed and after you wake up. If you can do that in the middle of the day too, that would be good. It might take a few days for it to totally go away. Grinding your teeth is really hard on your entire face!

I get something similar alot this might not be the same thing but it could be so go to a doctor anyway, you have a muscle that keeps the cartilage in your jaw in place, this is a sprint muscle and things like grinding your teeth wear it out leaving it inflamed for a week or so this can be painful but isn'tseseriousnd will go away with time still I recommend that you go to a doctor and get it checked anyway

It can take up to 2 weeks for the pain to go away. Until then eat sofet, easy to chew foods and take OTC NSAIDS like motrin as directed to help with the inflammation.
