I have a HUGE hole in my molar tooth... HELP!?!

Question: I have a HUGE hole in my molar tooth... HELP!?
I have a huge hole in my adult molar tooth (the very last one) and I mean a big one! I finally decided to go to the dentist, but what is going to happen? I think I have to extract it, I am 99% sure, but then do I need implants? I am absolutely terrified of the dentist! I'm so embarrassed that I allowed this hole to get bigger and bigger... please inform me on what will happen if I get my adult tooth extracted!

Answers:

When you go to a dentist he will xray your tooth to establish how much decay is present and how deep it has gone. He will then give you options of root canal treatment, filling or extraction based on the xray. You should not be embarrassed as i am positive he has seen worse. You must go asap to avoid the decay spreading on to the other teeth beside it as you don't want to lose 2 bottom molars. If you go for extraction then he will numb up your mouth and extract the tooth, you are numb so you will not feel pain at all. You will be left with a gap and this is usually left as you have other chewing molars there. You can opt for an implant if you want but your dentist will advise you on whats best.
