Bleeding gums after brushing teeth?!

Question: Bleeding gums after brushing teeth?
I brush my teeth every day. Lately my gums under my lower teeth have been bleeding after I brush. My gums aren't inflamed or swollen and they're not in any pain. What could be going on, is it serious, and how do I take care of it?

Answers:

It might be as simple as you are now brushing too hard. You do not need to apply much pressure to a toothbrush. Plaque can be removed with a kleenex. and hard brushing doesn't make them whiter. I just brought this same question up with my dentist. This is what he told me.

This could be due to brushing a bit too hard or brushing with a toothbrush that is not soft. soft is the only recommended type of toothbrush by the ADA. If you dont think you are brushing too hard then it could be caused by going through a hormonal change. if it persists for a couple of weeks i would make an appt to see a dentist. well i hope i helped :)

Sounds like you're showing the preliminary signs of gingivitis. Might I suggest flossing! If your not already, that is. Yep, "flossing" a $1 investment that could save you BIG bucks in the future.

well make sure your using a new tooth brush and like the other person said it could be just brushing to hard
