Hey,
I had a tooth out on saturday (12/2/2011) and trust me, im terrified of the dentist. Im a very nervous patient, but I was told if i didnt get my tooth removed it could end up moving to my brain and that scared me more than anything. I had an abcess which was causing so much pain for me and im allergic to a lot of medication so i suffered getting pain killers to ease my pain.
But anyway, I went in, they numbed it for me and trust me I dont know what I was worried about. The only thing that hurt was the novacaine but that usually does sting a little.
Dont worry, its the best thing you can do is to get it removed, good luck and i hope all goes well hun :) xx

Darling, don't be scared. There's no pain. If you are afraid of needles, tell them, they'll administer the anesthetic another way. You might feel a tugging sensation as the dentist physically pulls the tooth which is a little uncomfortable, but that's all. The assistant is there to suck any fluids out of your mouth with a tiny vacuum- like machine and the other machines they use are really noisy, but you won't feel any pain. Afterwards they pack the hole with cotton and you have to bite down for a while. When the anesthetic wears off, be prepared for some pain, tenderness and swelling but paracetamol should take care of that. Let the dentist and the assistant know before they start, that you're scared and they'll tell you the same thing. There's truly no need to be afraid.

Yes, I've had four teeth taken out in my whole life. I wouldn't be worried if I were you. What they do is make your mouth really numb, this is the only painful part. They take a needle and inject it to around 4-6 places of your mouth and your chin and inside your mouth will get numb. This is when they take out your tooth. You won't feel a thing when your tooth is being taken out. Your mouth will still be numb for the whole day when you get it taken out.

They can also put you to sleep which I highly doubt. That is usually only for your wisdom teeth. I didn't get put to sleep for my wisdom teeth.

Good luck! Myself.

Do not feel scared.

The Doctor will inject a local anesthesia and remove the tooth.

It will not even hurt you.

You will have discomfort after the tooth is removed as the empty space will hurt you and disturb you for 2 days only and your tongue will keep going into that space.

The only thing that hurts is the shot to numb it, just tell them to give you lots of Novocaine. They also give you pain pills afterwards, you'll be fine. It's painless and quick. A root canal is worst because it takes forever.

Personal Experience

. The dentist will numb you so you won't feel it, he has pulled plenty of teeth. If the rotted tooth stayed there, the infection could spread to your brain. Be thankful you're going to the dentist.

The only thing that hurt is when they inject your gums with anesthetic and you'll fell something popping out when they pull your teeth out
it will ache a little when the anesthetic wear off.

ME!

U shouldn't worry about a thing they will numb ur mouth so u don't have any pain
