Is this ulcer worth going back to the orthodontists about?!

Question: Is this ulcer worth going back to the orthodontists about?
When I last went to the orthodontists (about 20th January I think... I'll double check later though) they tightened my brace as usual. But about 3 days ago, my mouth started to really hurt. Over that night, a HUGE one inch long ulcer formed in the room of my mouth; it starts right where they have closed the gap between my two front teeth, and goes back about an inch.
Is it worth going to the orthodontists about? what would they do?

Not much you can do just let it heal, if it doesn't get better in a week or two then go see a dentist or your orthodontists.

Avoid acidic foods as this will make it worse. Acidic food examples: citrus fruits, tomatoes, fruit juices, carbonated beverages and soft drinks, energy drinks, other juices, whine, and vinegar.

I am a dental hygienist.

Have you tried Bonjela Once? It is meant to work really quickly and should sort it out for you!
