Gingivitis??! I'm really scared?!

Question: Gingivitis??! I'm really scared?
Okay, so i got some pain reliever for gum pains because the top of my gum (on top of the two front teeth.) is inflamed. (im thinking gingivitis?)

Now, I have a gap in between my two front teeth, and theres like a strip of inflammated gum on the ROOF of my mouth (maybe 1/2 inch long from my gap), which causes me not to bite down, because then it hurt the inflammted part.. When do you think it will go away after, starting to get antibacterial materials for oral care, vibrating toothbrush, more sufficient flosser, and better oral care.

Keep in mind I just got braces 2 months ago, and they recently tightened them 3 days ago. (Please do not tell me to go to my ortho/dentist, IM ASKING YOU about the problem/solution) I'm really scared )): I've been literally balling my eyes out. No dentist is open on the weekend and I don't want it to get worse ): please help

Gingivitis typically has bleeding. It is an infection of the very small spaces around the tooth under the gums. If you were to floss and brush and the gums bleed, that is a sign of gingivitis as well as red, puffy, gums. Minor cases usually clear up in a week with increased hygiene of the area.
Gingivitis though is only one of many things that can cause gums to inflamed. They can become inflamed simply by brushing too hard or flossing too deep. They can be cut from cleaning them or food could get stuck (like a popcorn kernal).

Unless your gums are bleeding, its probably more likely that they are simply inflamed by the increased pressure the teeth are putting on them from the braces. Its very likely not an emergency of any sort. Just take like advil or something and call the dentist on Monday for further advice.

The best tool for braces or clearing out gingivitis infections is a waterpik because it can get to places you can't reach with a toothbrush.

My dog has gingivitis because we dont bush her teeth and gums alot. the gums will look inflamed a little by the teeth and for my dog there was like a dark spec on the tooth by the gums. our vet told us the only way to get rid of the gingivitis is dental care but not just brushing, like where they have to scrape it off( surgically i think he said or just using a special tool? i cant remember)

Could you have burned the roof of your mouth on hot food? That is what this sounds like, but it's hard to tell without seeing it. If it is caused by bacteria, they gums will generally respond to better brushing and flossing within a few days.

I am a dental hygienist
