Can I eat solids, if I only had the right two wisdom teeth removed?!

Question: Can I eat solids, if I only had the right two wisdom teeth removed?
My two wisdom teeth on the right side were pulled, as they were the only two causing me trouble. No incisions were made into my gums as the teeth had already grown in, so they wiggled them vigourously until they came out. I am in no pain and don't need my percocet. My left side had nothing done, so would it be safe if I chewed on my left side paying extra attention to make sure no scraps of food wander. I mainly am thinking eggs, or a bagel(not toasted). Maybe chicken or just something solid. My teeth were pulled Saturday morning. I was given an irrigation syringe, so I feel pretty safe. I just wanted some other opinions before I gave in to temptation.
Thanks

I would go by what the dentist said- you have two open wounds in your mouth from where the teeth were pulled, and the only thing I would worry about is food getting caught up in there, which could turn into a putrid infection once trapped. I know that they were sewn shut, but even the smallest particle of food can get caught, so I'd rinse really well with the syringe afterwards, and chew only on the left side. But that is only if you are desperate. Take small bites and start with soft foods, then work your way up to solids just to see how you fare.
Good luck, and try calling the dentist to find out what is best.

I think I would try and eat something but would use caution in the foods I picked. I think eggs are a good choice. Bagels are usually very chewy and won't break down easily if they get stuck in the spaces where your teeth were pulled. I think mashed potatoes would also be a good choice.

Good luck and hope you heal fast.
