Does a root canal usual hurt afterwards? ?!

Question: Does a root canal usual hurt afterwards? ?
I had a root canal done Yesterday afternoon, and as soon as the navacan(not sure how to spell that) wore off my mouth was hurting. I can barely eat. He didn't give me and antibiotic, or pain medicine. Do you usually receive that? I woke up this morning with pain. Its like the never ending pain and not sure if I should call my dentist, or if this is normal..

Answers:

Call your dentist.

After a root canal the nerves to the tooth are gone so the tooth can't be hurting. But you can be in in pain from having the work done in your mouth anyway.

You can probably get a prescription for a few pain killers. It won't be for many because there shouldn't be any pain after a day or two.

do call up your dentist if pain persists for longer...
the pain might be due to the injection of anesthesia given for the treatment...
if this is d reason you'l be fine soon...
