How can i eat or drink or swallow with my expander?!

Question: How can i eat or drink or swallow with my expander?
Please don't tell me I'll get used it. tell me what to do. So yesterday i got my expander. I can't eat or drink because one i can't chew because of my upper bands and i can't swallow because of the expander. What can i do to eat. I'm starving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've tried swallowing regularly an i scrape my tongue. I've tried positioning my tongue and different ways. I've also tried pushing stuff back with my tongue. Nothing will work. I've tried so much. Plus I would call the orthodontist but their closed so my dad left a message. I can't chew on my right side because my band won't let me and i end up chewing on my cheek. I can't chew on my left side because my bands are uneven so I end up chewing on my right side. I can't chew with m front teeth because they're sore. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

You really WILL get used to it, and people are going to keep telling you that because its true!
Its going to be difficult and sore for a while, but it does get better - I promise.
In the meantime, try to get by on soup, yoghurt, mashed bananas etc.

i have an expander...but i dont get your problem sorry. but after i got used to having it eating gets easier and easier

I also starved a few days after getting my expander. There really isn't much you can do except get used to it. Your mouth will automatically adapt to the expander and figure out how to eat and swallow on it's own (if you understand what I'm trying to say). However, there will always be difficulty eating with it on because food will get stuck in the expander regardless of how long you have had it on. For now, I'd stick with yogurt, mashed potatoes, jell-o, milk (very filling!), tomato soup, etc. Also, I found that it helped me to drink through a straw.
