Orthodontist shortened the expected time of having braces...?!

Question: Orthodontist shortened the expected time of having braces...?
The duration of my treatment was originally two years, but my orthodontist recently told me it would take less than that. Afterward, my mother told me the actual time would be a year and a half (presumably, they discussed it while I was out of the room). In your experience, is this estimate legitimate or was it just to appease me?

Well the time needed can easily change, as the presumed time given by your dentist, is what he first assumed it would take to get to a certain point. However as no one is a like, it's very possible that for some people, i.e. you, for the change to occur faster, where as some unlucky people might take a bit longer.
