floss and brush twice. let the toothpaste sit on teeth a minute before rinsing. fluoride is the only known thing that fights cavities. fluoride rinse helps. a dentist will see you immediately if you're in pain. the sooner you see a dentist, the easier and cheaper it will be to repair.

I got a root canal done for about $50 bucks at a local college dental school. The students did a great job and I have no complaints, so you could start there. If not available, and it were me, I would just get on the phone and call around to dentists offices and tell them the truth, I am in a lot of pain and I don't have enough money to pay for it all up front but I can pay $50 per month. I actually did that last year and got it paid off because I had a cracked tooth and it was getting infected in my gums with puss etc. A lot of dentists may say thats ok we'll take care of you because they really dont want to see people in pain. You just need to put in the effort on the phones, but its worth it.
try going to a community college to get ur teeth looked at it is cheaper.
my mother told me my fathers brother used to put asprin right one the tooth.
he had horrible teeth and abseces all the time.

Go to a clinic or any place that might provide cheap or discounted medical treatment. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but this isn't a problem you can treat at home, you really do need a professional. If you continue trying to self treat, particularly by trying to kill the root, the problem will only worsen over time, resulting in, at best, irreparable damage to the tooth, and, at worst, an infection that will not only put you in additional pain, but cost even more to treat. If you continue to do damage to the root you put yourself at risk for both permanent dental damage and, a tad bit ironically, creates the possibility of chronic pain in the future. Again, I understand money may be tight, but you NEED a doctor.
