Weird taste in mouth. Explanation?!
Question: Weird taste in mouth. Explanation?
I always brush my teeth 2 or 3 times a day and always use mouthwash. I've tried tic tacs to make the taste go away but the they don't last very long. I have no idea what the cause could be.
The only reason I can think of is that after I got my braces off there's a metal bar behind my teeth at the front of my bottom row, which is meant to stay there for life. But it's loosened a bit from eating a raw carrot. Maybe there's food trapped and this is the cause? Or do I have some weird health thing?

I had a metallic taste like that for a year or so, even an hour or two after brushing thoroughly; it was so annoying. It also had a hint of a bloody taste every now and then, and had me paranoid. Is your tongue often white, or do colorful foods/candy easily leave colors on your tongue? You might just need to buy a good tongue scrapper. That metallic taste that i had disappeared within a week of buying one.
I've never used a tongue scrapper thing (never even heard of one, I've always just brushed my tongue) until recently. If I had to recommend one to ya, I'd tell ya to try out OraBrush. They're cheap and incredibly effective. I don't know if you can buy them in stores yet or not, but if you can't find them at a Walmart or Target, then you should try ordering them online.
Here's a youtube link that I first heard about it from:

Maybe your taste buds are touching the metallic thingy and its causing the bad breath. maybe call a dentist and ask them what to do. I have never had braces so I don't know.
