Sometimes when a front tooth has a trauma such as happened to yours. It will cause the tooth to die due to nerve damage.
It is hanging precariously, sounds like you should go immediately to a dentist or emergency room where they can stabilize the tooth. Chances are good you will need a root canal and crown, or extraction if that doesn't work and then you can get a bridge, implant or partial to replace the tooth. I am talking about an adult tooth.
If this is a baby tooth they will extract it and wait for the permanent one to grow in. I hope this helps.
