Does anyone have problems with zyprexa and hair loss?!
Question: i've been on zyprexa for almost 7 years and my hair is really thinning badly. i've tried other anti-psychotics but zyprexa is the only one that seems to help. i also take prozac and wellbutrin. i don't think those 2 cause hair loss. not to mention all the weight i've gained while taking the wonderful zyprexa. about 60 lbs total. anyone having this problem?

I don't know about the hair loss, but I gained about 70 pounds in a VERY short period of time while taking Zyprexa. I was given it because I was having a lot of trouble sleeping (BIG-TIME overkill), and I was CONSTANTLY starving. There's a lot of stuff out there online about this problem; as soon as I understood what was going on, I went off the stuff, and the weight came off as well.
My best advice to you is to talk with your doctor and/or pharmacist. Because of your weight gain, your estrogen levels could be fouled up, and that in turn can affect hair growth.
