Can you donate blood if you have a tattoo?!

Question: Tattoo
Wait 12 months after a tattoo if the tattoo was applied in a state that does not regulate tattoo facilities. This requirement is related to concerns about hepatitis. Learn more about hepatitis and blood donation.

Acceptable if the tattoo was applied by a state-regulated entity using sterile needles and ink that is not reused. Only a few states currently regulate tattoo facilities, so most donors with tattoos must wait 12 months after tattoo application before donating blood. You should discuss your particular situation with the health historian at the time of donation.

Yes

yes

of course.

Sure you can! It doesn't matter whats on your skin, but inside your body. The blood can save many lives.

i have six and i donate blood.

Of course, I have.

Yahh i don't see any reason why you couldn't

I don't see why not.

It wasn't in any of the questions that they asked.

Go save a life..you rebel you!

yes and thats a nice thing your doing god bless!

You have to wait a certain amount of time after the tattoo but yes, after that time period you can donate blood. (I think it's a year) I remember being asked how long I'd had my tattoo and it had been over 5 years so no issues.

of course u can....why on earth would u think any different?

Yes, just not if you have a std or have drugs in your system.

im sure you can. as long as you f=didnt contract aids while you got it done

YES. I have 2 tats and donate.

Yes, but not right after you get the tattoo. I'm not sure how long you have to wait, it's probably on the red cross' website.

yes

yes u can and fyi u cant donate blood if u are gay or lesibian

yes of course!

It has to be 6 months since you got the tattoo, then you can give blood. If you got a tattoo within 6 months, then you can't.

And why donate blood? Save people's lives. Humans can give up a pint of blood or so without any major effects. I just did it in the beginning of December for the first time. It wasn't bad at all.

YES. I did and i had a tattoo.

They ask when was the date of your last tatoo so I suspect theres a grace period.

why would anyone wish to donate blood?

no, its against the law

no i don't think so, i'm sure i read it somewhere.
probably just in case of blood poisoning or something.

Why would anyone want a tattoo? but seriously last time i went to donate they asked if i'd had any recent tattoo work I said yeah and they politely declined my offer??? its probably got something to do with hygene of the tattoo needles and whether ior not the gear was spotlessly cleaned, sterilized and was completely free of thingsl like contaminated blood, HIV , hep C etc.????
