Why do I have a ringing sensation in the ears sometimes?!
Question: It is called tinitus and it is actually like a fractured ear drum. It is very annoying.. talk to your doctor.. there are things you can do.. I use a sleep machine at night when it is the worst.. when it is quiet and I hear it.. I have a sleep machine on very low in my room, it plays the sound of rain.. and it blocks that damned ringing..
Tinitus can be caused by many things.. not just ear damage, but other physical issues.. make sure you get your doc involved..
It is no laughing matter.
Good luck

This is not that unusual. Heres a link from Web MD... http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/ringi... It is called Tinnitus. Hope I was helpful! -Alan
i don't know. that's happened to me before. I have this theory that if every person in the world would stop and listen without a word, then the static from t.v. and stuff would ring in their ear. i know thats not true but its funny
Sounds like tinnitus. You will need to do research on that to learn how to deal with it, and live with it. My mom has had that problem for years. My theory is it is related to circulation in the ear and around it.
I get that too sometimes.... it scares me, cuz I don't want to be deaf when Im older =( I THINK it has something to do with damaging some kinda crystal or w/e you wanna call it, inside your ear, which is a result of being exposed to a high decibel sound. all I know, is that once these "crystals" are damaged, they don't heal.... so head my advice on loud music, and such.... and also, I know that I am right with my answer, I just don't know details... like, what the "crystals" are called =P
I just read some other answers... and I want to point out, that the crystals are receptors BEHIND the eardrum, not the actual eardrum
Have you ever turned on your T.V. and heard a high pitched ringing?
It could just be the T.V. or it could be your ears.
Some peoples ears are able to hear higher frequencies than others.
However, some people get a ringing sensation in their ears, (better known as Tinnitus) because of hearing loss.
Too much exposure to loud noise can cause you to hear a ringing noise, or it could even just be from allergies.
Good question.
If I find out more on it I'll let you know.
If you take a lot of aspirin it can cause you to have ringing in your ears
This is called Tinnitus. One of the most common causes of tinnitus is damage to the microscopic endings of the hearing nerve in the inner ear. Continued exposure to loud noises can cause this also as well as hearing loss. Some medications such as aspirin can cause Tinnitus. Meniere's disease is a deteriorating disease that causes ringing in the ears, progressive hearing loss, and vertigo. It could be any one of these causes.
I would let your doctor know about this symptom so he can rule out anything more serious.
Take care my friend.
