Yes it is sick. They wouldn't be getting raped if they took a class and started carrying a pistol. There is no reason to chose to not protect ones self in the world we live in. DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND me. There is NEVER an excuse for the violent act of rape. But women need to arm themselves to prevent the event, the option is there to be used. Please do not think I am saying anyone is at fault I am certainly not, but the right to defend yourself needs to be exercised more than it is. That crime is the most horrific crime there is, I count that up there with or worse than murder.
I just read some other answers. Rape is an act of violence, has nothing to do with sex, it is about control. Many people do not come forward to report as they should. The women who have drug a rape case out on tv for weeks and then admit they lied have hurt the women who have truly been raped they are drilled and tested and questioned and everything in their lives are scrutinized because the proof has to be undisputed. It is a sick and invasive thing for a women to go through a rape trial. It is very very sad, but true. Not even one rape is an acceptable number to me.
Actually, the number of rapes per capita in North America has been more or less stable for the last 40 years. It's just there's way more media reporting and victims coming forward.
the media wasn't around some years ago. word spreads fast the amount seems larger. don't get me wrong it's happening alot and something needs to be done.
cuz of horny, crackhead men who cant get a girlfriend. they need lovin so they force it upon someone they find attractive who they may or may not have known before hand.
I truthfully believe because this is a moral breakdown in our society. Standard of what is acceptable on tv, movies etc are also a factor , Women are shown as a sex object in movies and on tv . It translates to the teachings at home at first .
The definition of 'rape' has changed. In some cases the way you touch someone can now be interpreted as 'rape'.
People lie about it all the time.
I had a friend that lied about it on the internet, probably because she liked the attention.
Just like people lie about how they look on the internet or their age.
We're humans. Humans naturally lie.
And you see it all the time because there are more people. The more people the more killers and rapers we get, so there's more cases.
It pretty much stays the same ratio.

but i think all guilty sex offenders and pedephiles should be stright up casterated...solves that an takes away any urge
