Is tap water ok to drink in UK?!

Question: I read that tap water is bad for you because it contains chlorine, flouride, lead, pesticides, etc. But bottled water is expensive and less regulated.

How should I drink water? Is it best to boil it and drink in teas instead or does boiling not change anything? Or do you think tap water is ok?

Apparently water filters don't help much either.

British water is strictly regulated. Flouride is good for your teeth. Bottle water is no better as it could be sitting on the shelf for a year before you buy it. Don't fall onto the trap of believing bottled is better.
Boiling can remove some impurities.
