Do I have a drinking problem?!

Question: I drink almost every night that I have a chance. In fact, right now I am drunk (don't let my ability to type fool you). However. I work close to full-time and attend a University full-time and my grades are ranging from A's to B's. I just love to drink. And I drink by myself because I enjoy my own company rather than other drunk retards. I have hobbies and I volunteer at a Hospital and Red Cross as well when I have time. I don't tell anyone that I drink almost every night. Is this wrong? I don't really feel guilty about it. I just don't let people know that I drink alot including my girlfriend. I have to go pee now.

Is drinking to get drunk alone each night all that bad if you do well with your life and have sleeping problems? Alcohol helps and Ambien CR sucks I've tried it.

I'm almost the same as you, and quite successful in the design world... I would have to say that drinking less will help us both out in the long run....

Good Luck....

you are a classic drunk, doesn't seem to affect you much but you are addicted to it, my father and grandfather and some of my cousins are the same, they drink all the time and its incredibly bad for them, my dad died from the stuff

you sound like my dad. he leads a very successful and seemingly normal life but drinks every night. he says he does it because he has trouble sleeping too. to be honest it is his worst feature but he is a great guy anyway. my only concern are the health resons but if you dont mind running the risk then im not going to stop you.

You don't have to have immediate negative experiences to be an alcoholic. The disease is defined by a dependancy, which can and most likely will develop later on into something destructive. At the very least, I would be concerned about the deterioration of your brain. Long-term consumption literally does put HOLES in your brain.

If you're just having trouble sleeping, see a doctor. There's plenty of really great pills out there to help with that. If you really love the taste, there are also a lot of non-alcoholic substitutes out there, many of which even taste the same or similar.
